RENDEZVOUS 2025

Our Rendezvous is named as a tribute to the 200th anniversary of the very first “Mountain Man Rendezvous” which was held in Wyoming in 1825! Men with names like Kit Carson, Jedediah Johnson and Jim Bridger were in attendance and they were the real Adventurers who opened the American West as we know it today and their exploits have became legend!

So - the idea behind RawHyde’s Rendezvous is to host a “gathering” of like minded riders in a location that evokes a feeling of true Adventure! So many ADV events today are held in locations that have a paved road leading right to the venue and the venues are located in places that are not adventurous at all. For example on the outskirts of a town where it’s a two minute ride to a hotel or convenience store…. That’s not what we have in mind:

For our Rendezvous we will have a legitimately challenging ride to get to the event site which will be a location that is remote enough to provide a feeling of total isolation which absolutely needs to be part of the experience!

So - for this event we have chosen a location situated on an expert section of the California BDR route high in the mountains at approximately 10,000 feet elevation. It’s a 25 mile ride from the nearest paved road and you’ll need at least “intermediate” level riding skills to get to the site. (anyone who has taken a RawHyde class should find this a manageable ride.)

What’s included? When you register to participate you’ll get a detailed email, but at a high level here’s what you can expect.

• GPS tracks to the event with “waypoints of interest” along the way.
• All meals and drinks are provided (including adult beverages)
• Toilet facilities will be provided
• Shower & hygiene provisions

What you will need to bring or consider:

• Camping gear, clothes and a towel
• Basic tools in case something happens along the way
• Fill your gas tank to the brim at the last town before you head into the dirt. (either Lone Pine or Independence)
• We will create a group email or whatsapp group so that communication among attendees is easy and we’d like to strongly suggest that everyone ride to the event in small groups… or at least with a riding buddy!

Additional opportunities for out of town riders or folks who would like to “refresh some skills” before going to the event.

Rental bikes will be available for RawHyde Alumni who live too far away to easily reach the Rendezvous site? Arrive at RawHyde SoCal on Wednesday evening the 5th for a group ride to the site? (BMW 900, 1300 and 1300 GSA available to rent)

Refresher skills day: Wednesday the Nov. 5th will be a “training day” for anyone who would like to refresh dirt riding skills before taking off for the Rendezvous… Arrive at RawHyde SoCal on Tuesday PM, ride your own bike (or rent one of ours) Spend the nite Tuesday and get a full day of skills refresher on Wednesday and then ride as a group with a RawHyde Coach to the event on Thursday.
